HERE'S
HOW
So you want
to open a dog bakery and haven't a clue?
Wondering
why we're still around since 1995 when so many others have started
and failed?
Asking yourself
"How is it that Barbara's Canine Catering knows what they're
doing and the others don't?"
Need
help writing a business plan?
Well, you've
come to the right place. Since 1998, Barbara's Canine Catering
has been offering business start-up classes. If
you are considering opening your very own bakery for dogs in your
area --- we will share with you the secrets of our success (most of them, anyway)
and how to get started. We can
save you literally thousands of misguided man-hours in the
start-up phase.
Are
you sure you want to bake? It's long hours and hard work.
Instead, have you considered opening a retail location and
letting us provide your high-quality dog treats? To
help you decide, you get to meet with the Director of Operations
and our Creative Force (Barbara) and the Director of Finance
(Meredith). Can
you believe we've had to resort to using these titles. Come
to class and you'll learn why a company needs to do this
to be successful.
If
you are considering opening a dog bakery in your area, we'll
share with you very specific information on how to get started
and remain successful. By taking our class, you will literally
save thousands of dollars and hundreds of misguided hours
during your start-up phase. The pitfalls are many and as
most small business assistance organizations will tell you,
getting beyond the 5-year mark is no guarantee of continued
success.
To answer even
a few basic questions on what, how, when, etc., would take
over an hour just to give an overview of the struggles we
have been through since conceptualizing this in 1995. There
are dozens of facets that must be addressed simultaneously
for an entrepreneurial concept to work. Be prepared to worker
harder than you ever have in your life with NO PAY until
you (and a partner) have put in about 5 - 10,000 man-hours
(no joke!).
Because of the flurry of requests
for information we've received over the years, we've developed
a program to assist people to get started. It involves a
visit to our Café to see the procedures and activities ---
it's a personal, intensive class. We offer both single-person
and two-person classes, for your convenience where we will
guide you towards starting and operating a dog biscuit bakery.
One
10-hour day for $1025 for one person or $1275 for two persons.
Here's what you get:
- Consultation
with the founder, Barbara, and behind-the-scenes assembly,
mixing, cutting and baking production.
- A tour and
overview of our retail store, including how to select
and secure inventory and lessons on retail displays and
merchandising.
- Consultation
with Meredith on all the financial and "behind the
scenes" challenges.
- How
to develop your own recipes for the dog biscuits and/or
feedback on your current recipes.
- Where/how
to purchase the best of supplies and equipment
- Information
on sources for ingredients, final assembly items, bags,
ribbons, boxes, etc.
- Follow-up
conference calls to evaluate your progress
- Overall
view of your business plan
- Manufacturing
location versus retail location
- Advice
on selection of a location and establishing the "office"
part of the bakery.
- A complimentary
copy of Barbara's internationally marketed doggie treat
cookbook with 50 recipes!
- A full year
of follow-up via e-mail!
You'll get all the necessary
details to make an informed decision --- including business
plan data. Proprietary information (recipes, financials),
of course, will not be made available. Payment is at time
of class and may be by cash, check or credit card.
You will required to sign a NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT.
This seminar will help you avoid the many unnecessary pitfalls
we've been through. Please CALL US DIRECTLY at 888.K9.TREAT
(888.598.7328) or e-mail meredith@k9treat.com
to schedule a class.

I attended a valuable training at Barbara’s Canine Catering, in Charlotte, to begin my bakery. Barbara was an exceptional trainer, inspiration, and resource to me. And, with her help, my dream has been

Subject: Thank You!
Barbara,
I just wanted to thank you once again for a wonderfully informative
weekend. My head has just about stopped spinning. I realized that I have some more
work to do in some areas, and maybe a little less in others. I received my
license number in the mail while I was away, yeah! If things keep moving
along as planned, I will want to talk with you about bulk pricing for my
business plan. I will keep you posted! I also wanted you to see my babies.
Harvey is on the left (2+ yrs) and Morgan is on the right (5+ months).
They said to thank the nice lady for their treats.
Sincerely,
Jennifer

"The consultation services that Barbara at Barbara's Canine Cafe' were
invaluable to my planning. Barbara shared with me her years of
experiences, tribulations and tips. The information she shared gave me insight into
what works, what doesn't and why. Her passion is contagious and inspiring. And,
her advice is realistic and informed. I believe that my consultation with
Barbara will have saved me from going the wrong direction with my planning
and keep me focused on what needs to be accomplished to achieve my goals.
If you think you know what it takes to run a successful dog
bakery ..... think again, and talk with someone who really knows."
Sincerely,
Jennifer
